Are my reviews anonymous?

Yes.  Reviews are always anonymous.  My Coach Reviews understands that in order for parents to share their honest, candid feedback about a club or coach, their reviews must remain anonymous.  Thus, the only identifier on any review is the Display Name/Alias that users pick for themselves.

What should I put in my review?

First and foremost, be honest.  We want MyCoachReviews.com to be the must trusted site for sports parents when assessing which coach and/or club is the right fit for their son or daughter.  So…

Tell MyCoachReviews.com readers about you and your child’s firsthand experience with the coach you’re reviewing (avoid hearsay).  If the coach was/wasn’t a fit for your child or your family, explain why.  Be specific.

Bottom line: what info would you want another parent to tell you about a coach to help you make a decision?   Write that.

A friendly suggestion…

If you have just come from your son/daughter’s game and are upset about something that happened, wait 24 hours before submitting your review.  Maybe you won’t feel as emotional and will view the situation differently the next day.  (Naturally we’re not talking to you, rather those other sports parents who sometimes go a wee bit overboard)

What shouldn’t I put in my review?  What’s prohibited?

Here are the comments in reviews that will get them removed (aka our Posting Guidelines):

*  Name-calling, slurs, profanity, spoofing another person or account, hate speech, anything racist, sexist, misogynistic, sexually suggestive, obscene, defamatory, libelous, harassing, threatening, dangerous, abusive, or derogatory as well as anything else that violates our Terms of Use Agreement.

*  Any personal information about a coach including his or her email, phone number or home address.

*  Any comment that strays from coach and/or club reviews.  No comments on politics or any of the other topics regularly posted on other social media sites that have caused you to reconsider going to your family reunion.

*  Any allegations that a coach has engaged in illegal activities.  Anything of that nature should be brought to the attention of the club and/or relevant authorities, not posted here.

*  Multiple reviews about the same coach by the same account.  In other words, no spamming an account (with either bad or good reviews).

*  Promotions or advertising.

*  Reviews not in English.

*  Hyperlinks and/or URLS.

In a nutshell: MyCoachReviews.com reserves that right to remove any review deemed to be inappropriate based on the above guidelines or any review that violates our Terms of Use Agreement.

What if I’m a coach, can I respond to these reviews?

Absolutely.  We encourage coaches to sign up and respond to any reviews that they feel like responding to.  Please note that coach replies are subject to the same guidelines outlined above regarding what is prohibited in a review.

As a coach, can you tell me who wrote a certain review about me?

No.  Reviews are always anonymous.

I don’t like a review about me, will you take it down?

No.  We will only remove a review if it violates the posting guidelines listed here or our Terms of Use Agreement.

MyCoachReviews.com and its team has no way to verify or refute the specifics in a review.  As such, we do not “take sides” in disagreements between a coach and a parent.

Remember, just as one person’s favorite restaurant may be another person’s least favorite, so too may be the case when two parents review the same coach (hell, even JAWS is “only” at 98% on the top movie review site).  And a coach may view a situation completely differently than the player’s parent.  Thus, we urge any coach who disagrees with a review to sign up for an account and respond to the review in question.

Do the people behind this site post reviews?

Never.  We may add a coach or club name to the database so that it pops up when searched for, but neither the founders, moderators, nor anyone affiliated with MyCoachReviews.com will ever post a review.  Only MyCoachReviews.com users are allowed to post reviews.  If we discover that anyone affiliated with the site has posted a review, it will be removed.

Can a coach review him or herself?

No.

What if I want to report a review for violating the MyCoachReviews.com posting guidelines and/or Terms of Use Agreement?

Click on the “Report Review” tab next to the review in question and tell us what the problem is, or you can email us at info@mycoachreviews.com.  We will “review the review” ASAP.

Any final thoughts to share?

Don’t make any evaluation or decision based on one review or one source of information.  Even though we think it’s the best, MyCoachReviews.com should just be one of many tools you and your family use to find the best coach for you child.
